OneDesk can integrate with FreshBooks to make invoicing easier. The integration will create time entries and client records in your FreshBooks account whenever timesheets and customers are created in OneDesk.
Connecting your OneDesk to your FreshBooks is easy. Click on administration, then integrations. Scroll down to FreshBooks and click the connect button. You will need to authorize with your account name and password. Next you will need to select which business you wish to connect to. Though most will only have one. In the future if you wish to disconnect your account and can do so by clicking disconnect.
Now let’s check out what the integration can do. I’m going to create a new task. I want to also associate this task with a customer so the customer information is pushed over to FreshBooks as well. So I will add the customer here as a requester. Keep in mind when a customer submits a ticket or task they are automatically the requester, so you would not have to do this step. Next I want to add a new timesheet for this task. Click to add a new timesheet. Fill in the amount of work performed. It is important to set the timesheet as billable for it to go to FreshBooks. Let’s fill out some other information here, percentage complete or notes as well. Now when I submit this my timesheet will be automatically created in my FreshBooks.
Let’s go check out the timesheet in my FreshBooks account. I can select time tracking. Here you can find my new timesheet has been created as a time entry which has also been associated with the customer. If the customer doesn’t already exist in your FreshBooks, OneDesk will automatically push that customer account to FreshBooks. In the clients tab of FreshBooks you can see your clients information. Back to our time entries, you’ll notice that the entries have also been associated with the correct project. Again if that project did not already exist, it would have automatically been created in fresh books. So in short the integration will automatically push across projects, customers and of course time sheets.
